This Sony 50mm f1.4 lens is a remake from the old Minolta era. The remake was made to make the adjustment for the DSLR sensor. The f/1.4 is the widest aperture that Sony has for it’s normal lens lineup in the Sony Alpha lineup. Usually, lens with such a wide aperture suffer from some optical quality softness.
